- Amos screens are absolutely *not* promotable via software.
- You can write your Amos programs to use higher res screens if you've got
- the right extension (I think?), but you've still got the problem of using
- Amos itself.... (maybe someone could write an editor that can load/save
- Amos progs that runs under decent screen modes?)
-
- When I was looking to buy a graphics card, I thought I might have to give
- up Amos, but then I saw the Picasso IV, which has a video pass-through,
- and scan-doubles all the PAL/NTSC video screens to VGA spec.
-
- I'm now using Amos on my PicassoIV equipped A4000, with no problems.
- Other graphics cards aren't so fortunate, though.
-
- You can also buy 'flicker-fixers' which scan-double your display for
- use with a VGA monitor. They were quite cheap for the A2000, and the
- A3000 has one built in, but if you're using an A4000, they currently
- cost more than [I think] they're worth.
-
- If you're using an A1200, I don't think you're going to have much
- luck finding any suitable hardware scan-doublers.
-
-
- Well, good luck with it.....
